Roles For Election to the Steering Committee on Wednesday 9 October 2024
Explanation of Roles:
Chair:
Ensure the effectiveness of the Steering Committee and the wider Forum including preparing meeting agendas, leading and guiding meetings and encouraging discussion. Ensuring, at all times, that meetings are conducted in accordance with the Constitution and that, by overseeing and liaising with the NWCF Steering Committee, all matters are dealt with in an effective manner.
To follow up actions from meetings with the individuals responsible.
Treasurer:
Be a signatory for bank accounts held by NWCF.
Ensure the Financial Controls Policy is followed in detail. Keeping clear accounts and reporting to the Steering Committee accordingly.
Oversee any funding bids and applications that are planned, written and submitted by NWCF.
Secretary:
Support the NWCF and Chair by assisting in preparing meeting agendas, taking and circulating minutes.
Arranging and advising the Steering Committee of the date and location of each steering committee meeting.
Writing and receiving correspondence on behalf of the Steering Committee.
Communications Officer:
Oversee the development and monitor the communications strategy (yet to be written), including social media outlets, finding new ways to communicate with members and the wider community.
Safeguarding Officer:
Be familiar with and oversee the Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy, make members aware of the content and their responsibilities.
Ensure that those who require them have a DBS check.
Be the point of contact for any safeguarding concerns related to any NWCF matters.
This role is subject to a DBS check.
Data Protection Officer (DPO):
Follow the GDPR/Privacy Policy. Ensure the Forum processes, and any personal data is held in compliance with data protection rules. Ensure any breaches are reported to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and the NWCF Steering Committee.
Membership Secretary:
To keep records of any Open Meetings and details of those who attend.
Be the point of contact for NWCF members
Liaise with DPO to ensure compliance with GDPR and Privacy Policy.
In accordance with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy, monitor the make-up of NWCF membership and advise the Steering Committee.
